Berg Lake Panorama

Ok, I had to upload this now since it got too big to send via whatsapp - and whatsapp compresses it anyways so it nullifies all the work I have done.

This is Berg Lake from the gravel valley at the south end of the lake. You can see Berg Glacier coming down between the peaks on the right. The big mountain behind Berg Glacier is called Rearguard Mountain - what a cool and fitting name, isn't it? I love it.^^ The big Robson Glacier is hidden behind Rearguard Mountain. According to info signs in the shelter at the north shore, 1908 the Robson Glacier extended all the way to the north shore of Berg Lake, which you would have been able to see it in this shot. Not anymore though. Due to climate change Robson Glacier is retreating at a pace of about 15 m per year.

I can't tell you how awesome it felt when we got here. Just 1-2 km we had to fight with knee- to hip-deep snow and I didn't have high shoes. It got a lot better once we reached the bottom of this valley though.
